Responsibilities

The Manager of Industrial Chemicals, Gases, and Water Services is responsible for leading the team in a way that will foster the desired culture and environment, along with responsibility in all aspects of Plant Services and Calibration.

  • Together with the plant engineering and maintenance support departments, the Manager of Industrial Chemicals, Gases, and Water Services has the task of ensuring the provision of engineering and infrastructure services for our production units.
  • Responsibility for site planning and development which includes hydrogen recovery, ammonia recovery, industrial gases, and bulk chemical storage and distribution.
  • In matters relating to site infrastructure the Manager of Industrial Chemicals, Gases, and Water Services works closely with various functions including GTP’s Environmental and Safety Department to ensure operations are complying and regulatory requirements with public authorities, government agencies and local residents.
  • Ownership with support staff of Boilers such as Steam and Condensate, Water Systems and Wastewater Treatment. This includes soft, DI, Raw (Well) water.
  • Investigating future technologies and providing direction regarding GTP's Sustainability program.
  • Responsibility of the Calibration Department in maintaining ISO-9001 and environmental calibration requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Engineering (Electrical or Chemical Engineering preferred) and/or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive professional experience in a technology-driven, heterogeneous industrial manufacturing environment, preferably in a role such as that described above.
  • Combinations of strong social skills with an assertive personality and have considerable experience in managing highly qualified engineers and experts from different disciplines.
  • Experience in planning and implementing large-scale investment projects and will be capable of coordinating complex, enterprise-wide processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Management of all facets associated with utility operations. Energy, budgeting, system reliability, projects, personnel scheduling, future state planning.
  • Written & verbal communication with all groups associated with 24/7 utility operations. Production, Maintenance, Purchasing, Plant Engineering, Construction, R&D Analytical, Safety, Environmental.
  • Familiarity with OSHA, DEP, and DOT regulations. Highly Hazardous materials, Process Management Programs (PMPs), water & air quality, chemical transportation by rail.
  • Plant Engineering: Valve & pump selection, line & equipment sizing, material compatibility, stoichiometry.
